Mr. Richard Todd Hogg

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Todd Hogg, 53 of Gary, Texas will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 26, 2017 in the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Murvaul Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hogg passed away November 22, 2017 at his home in Gary. Mr. Richard Todd Hogg was born February 11, 1964 in Columbia, Louisiana to Sherman Blanchard and Helen Bernice Alexander Hogg. He married Rebecca Jean Patty in 2009 and they celebrated 8 years of marriage. Mr. Hogg was retired from the logging industry and was a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles, but mostly he loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Mason Hogg; aunt, Ruth Hogg; nephew, Sherman Brady and brother, Bobbie Hogg. Mr. Hogg is survived by his loving and devoted wife Rebecca Patty Hogg; children, Michael Hogg and wife Brittney of Hallsville, Josh Hogg of Columbia, LA, Stephanie Murphy of Durant, OK, Chris Peterson and wife Lisa of Denton, NC, Wendy Turner and husband Nathan of Lexington, NC, Nicholas Patty of Gary and Chandler Patty of Gary; brother, Edsel Hogg and wife Iris of Gary; sisters, JoAnn Partin and husband Robert of Lafayette, TN, Pat Avant of Smyrna, TN, Marilyn Alger and Bobby Smith of Lebanon, TN, Connie Crowell and husband Robert of Nashville, TN, LaNelle Richardson of Longview and Genae Fields and husband Jerry of Cypress; brother-in-law, John Patty and wife Joyce of Gary. Also surviving Mr. Hogg are his grandchildren, Makayla Hogg, McKenzie Hogg, Hannah Hogg, Mason Hogg, Andy Hogg, Logan Hogg, Logan Peterson, Tyler Eller, Breanna Peterson, Bryson Turner, Mason Turner, Jordan Turner, Colin Turner and Spencer Murphy; numerous nieces ad nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Nerren, Mikey Ethridge, Paul Howard, Jerry Fields, Chris Fields, Gary Hogg, Bo Hogg and Billy Hogg. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Nerren, Jeff Oran and Bobby Penny. The family wishes to give special thanks to Jennifer and Beverly of Compass Hospice of East Texas for their love and care.
