Mr. Albert Thomas Boren

Funeral services for Mr. Albert Thomas Boren, 83, of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Carthage, with Rev. Randy Miller and Rev. Jerry Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Six Mile Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Monday evening at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Albert Thomas Boren was born August 30, 1942, in Carthage, Texas, to Thomas Eugene and Myrtle Maud Brazzeal Boren. He was the third of four children and was raised and educated in Carthage, graduating with the Bulldog Class of 1961. On June 6, 1964, Albert married the love of his life, Alice Faye Lawrence. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories. Following his marriage, Albert worked for the Highway Department before purchasing the Carthage Locker Plant, which he owned and operated until his retirement. In retirement, he enjoyed raising cattle and chickens. Albert loved bird hunting, raising border collies, tending to his cattle, and making his famous sausage. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in his family, his work, and the life he built in his hometown. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Eugene and Myrtle Maud Boren; and his sisters, Virginia Ellis and Billie Jean Pugh. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice Boren of Carthage; beloved daughter, Stephanie Price and husband Jimmy of Carthage; brother, Wesley Boren of Carthage; brother-in-law, Max Pugh of Houston; grandchildren and their families, Amanda Rose Howell and husband Bud and their children, Ty, Remi, and Kimber; Bruce Johnson and wife Darcy of Carthage and their children, Levi and Jensen; Dana McAllister and family; Krista Samford and family; and Bradley Price and family. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and a host of friends who will cherish his memory. Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Johnson, Jimmy Smith, Gary Alford, Whitten Thompson, Tim Hooper, Bryan Murff, and Bud Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlton Hudman, David Wooley, Wesley Boren, Kirk Corbell, Pat Parrish, Bubba Hudson, William Goolsby, Jackie Soape, Troy “Tater” Davis, and Mitch Minafee. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Albert’s caregivers, Alice Brown, Tina Howard, Shiela Holt, Melody Hardy, and Sonja Brown, for their loving care and all they have done. Albert will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, hard work, devotion to family, and a life well lived will remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
