Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Jane Williams, 79 of Carthage, Texas will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddy Mason and Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Williams died Friday, April 8, 2011 at her home in Carthage. Mrs. Anna Jane Williams was born November 24, 1931 in Panola County, Texas to Hugh and Ruby Cleo York Williams. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1949 and then furthered her education at Tyler Commercial College. Ann met and later married Bobby Joe Williams and together they celebrated over 60 years of marriage. Mrs. Williams owned and operated Joe’s Café along with her husband for many years. A member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Mrs. Williams loved her Lord and spent her time serving not only Him but everyone she met. She loved and cared for her family and friends, being sure no one ever went hungry and making sure all their needs were met. She is preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Williams is survived by her loving husband, Bob Williams of Carthage; children, Greg Williams and wife Judy of Carthage, Sharlet McCallum and husband Arthur of Tyler, Terry Williams and wife Martha of Carthage and Brad Williams and wife Jill of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Shelly Williams of Dallas, Jessica Burnett, Brandon Williams, Amanda Goolsby and husband Justin, Chelcy Shows and husband Matt, Caroline Carter and husband Joshua, Clayton Williams and wife Kristen all of Carthage, Ann-Marie White and husband Jake of Lubbock, Chase Williams of Carthage and Joseph Williams of Nacogdoches; great grandchildren, Hailey, Carter, Carson, Camden, Alayna and Claire, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Williams, Clayton Williams, Joseph Williams, Chase Williams, Matt Shows, Joshua Carter, Jake White and Justin Goolsby. The family request memorials be made in Ann’s memory to the charity of your choice.
