Funeral services for Mr. Charles ”Chuck” Avery Green Jr., 74, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kirby Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Shiloh Cemetery in Mt. Enterprise, Texas under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Monday night September 1, 2025 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Charles “Chuck” Avery Green, Jr., was born November 13, 1950, in Casa Grande, Pinal County, Arizonia. He passed this life August 30, 2025, in Carthage, Texas. Chuck was born to the marriage of Edith Mozelle Needham Green and Charles Avery Green, Sr. He was raised and schooled in Carthage, Texas graduating with the Carthage Bulldog class of 1968. Chuck lived a life marked by love, kindness, faith and quiet strength. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and later with the National Guard, demonstrating the same dedication and courage that defined his whole life. Beyond his military service, Chuck was a licensed and ordained minister and a devoted prayer warrior, faithfully encouraging and uplifting others through his deep love for God. He married his love, Ann Elizabeth Holiday March 18, 1978, and together they celebrated 47 years of marriage and 3 children. After retiring, he enjoyed working with wood in his shop, creating pieces with the same care and dedication he showed in all areas of his life. Mr. Green is survived by his loving wife, Ann Holiday Green, and their daughters: Angie Green, Jennifer Randall and her husband Tim, and his son: Charles “Chucky” Green. Chuck’s greatest joy was his family, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. He leaves behind beloved grandchildren: Brittany Perez, Jonathan Hibbs, Timothy Randall, Matt Randall, Sara Randall, and Caleb Randall and his wife Jolie. He is also blessed with great grandchildren who brought him endless joy: Yessenia, Nayelli, Adrian, Selena, Amber, Freya, and Joshua, and a host of other family and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents. Serving as pallbearers will be his 4 grandsons, and Eliya Suy, and Thomas Lee, Honorary pallbearers will be David Holiday, Tim Randall, Steve Bishop, and Dean Bishop. IN lieu of flowers the family request memorials to Mission Carthage, a ministry that Chuck dearly loved and all his family supports. Chuck will be remembered and deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His faith, love, and example will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. “Well done, good and faithful servant”. Matthew 25:23.
