Mr. Charles Wilcie Pellham

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Wilcie Pellham, 74, of the Fairplay Community of Panola County, Texas will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddy Mason and Bro. Terry Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Waldrop Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6–8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Pellham passed away July 4, 2015 at his home in Fairplay. Mr. Charles Wilcie Pellham was born September 16, 1940 in Panola County, Texas to Obie and Bessie Waldrop Pellham. Wilcie was raised and schooled in Panola County and graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1957. He later graduated from Kilgore College with an Associate’s Degree. Mr. Pellham met and later married Joyce Holland on October 1, 1971 and together they celebrated 43 years. Wilcie worked as a machinist for 34 years for Texas Utilities and retired as a maintenance foreman in 1992. Mr. Pellham was a member of the Brookes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, loved hunting, fishing, farming, cattle and gardening. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Pellham is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, George Pellham. Mr. Pellham is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Pellham of Fairplay; children, Pam Parker and husband Johnny of Ardmore, OK, Eric Pellham and wife Stacy of Fairplay; sisters, Peggy Snow and husband Rudy of Carthage, Jean Thompson and husband Billy Ray of Longview; grandchildren Casey Steudeman, Jamie Sanders and husband Josh, Matt Parker, Emma and Eli Pellham; great grandchildren, Parker and Brody Steudeman and Hagen Sanders; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Parker, Tim Snow, Andy Snow, Jerry Prior, Barry Thompson, Mark Prior, Jake Waldrop and David Waldrop. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Alexander, Rusty Ivey, Talf Earl Allison, Tommy Jones, Mark Buchanan, Kim R. Smith, Ricky Waldrop, Doug Waldrop, Bill Pryor, Sam Pryor, Mac Holland, Larry Jo Davis, Joe Jackson, Michael Williford, Travis Adams, Robbie Rhodes, Jerry Philps, Gerald Bikiler, Ragen Gentry, John Rogers, James Waldrop, Bob Blankinship, Preston Peck and Harold Alred.
