Mr. Darrell Cheshire

Memorial services for Mr. Darrell Cheshire, 76, of Carthage, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the American Legion Post #353 with Rev. Warren Langford officiating. Visitation will be 9-10:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the Legion. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Darrell Dean Cheshire was born January 16, 1946, in Carthage, Texas. He passed this life February 9, 2022, in Carthage, Texas. Darrell was on of two sons born to the marriage of Allen V. and Evie Ophelia Sartor Cheshire. He was raised and schooled in Carthage graduating with the Bulldog class of 1964. He married his love, Vianna La-Verne Holloway December 30, 1964, and they celebrated 57 years of marriage and three children. Mr. Cheshire grew up in the Southside Baptist Church and attended West Loop Church of Christ. He worked in pipeline construction. He worked many years for Brown and Root offshore. Welded derricks and pipefitting later retiring from TXU. Darrell was a talented butcher, specialized in smoke meats and sausage. Darrell served as Past Commander of the Sons of Legionnaires Post #353. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Jennifer Cheshire Monroe. Mr. Cheshire is survived by his loving wife, Vianna Cheshire of Carthage; sons, James Allen “Jay” Cheshire and wife Robbie of Tenaha, Jason Cheshire and wife Rachael of Carthage; brother, Don Allen Cheshire and wife Martha of Houston; grandchildren, Bradley Monroe, Brianna Monroe Anding, Emily Joy and Anthony Lazano, Neal Benjamen Cheshire, Dusty Dean Cheshire and fiancé Kayhlee Chitwood, Kayla Marie and Aaron Randolph, Elizabeth Flint, Makenzie Conway, and Alyssa Packwood; great grandchildren, Sawyer Cheshire, Cason Andrew Mayfield, Leeland Allen Lazano, Charlotte Marie Randolph, Kortland Ritter, Lydia Joy Anding, and Eden Anding; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Sons of Legionnaires Post #353 and friends, Riley Booth, Curtis Ebarb, Brian Monroe, David Lungren, Eric Menges, Joey Manshack, Bobby Malone and Bear Allen. The Cheshire family and friends in attendance are invited to lunch following the memorial service provided by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #353.
