Mr. David Raymond Scott

David Raymond Scott, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at the age of 80. He was born on August 15, 1945, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, to the marriage of Velma Pauline Hardy and Auzzie Anderson. David lived a life full of love, adventure, and laughter, treasured by all who knew him. David married the love of his life, Sheila, in 1972, and together they built a beautiful life filled with 53 years of happy memories. Their journey together was one of unwavering support, shared dreams, and the simple joys of life. A proud veteran, David served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, an experience that shaped him as the dedicated man he became. He devoted nearly three decades to Delta Airlines, from which he retired, but he didn’t stop there. Later on, he brought his warm and welcoming nature to Brookshire’s, working as a customer service clerk where he enjoyed making everyday interactions memorable. Family was everything to David. He took immense joy in creating lasting memories with his daughters, Patricia Hendrix and Barbara Scott, and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren: Timothy, Brittney, Sherie Marris, Megan Smith, Karger, Aeroll, Tayte, Jeremy, John and Angel as well as his numerous great-grandchildren. Whether it was family vacations or camping trips, David’s heart truly thrived in the companionship of his loved ones. A simple man at heart, he found happiness in yard work and tinkering with vehicles, reflecting his down-to-earth spirit and genuine love for life. David's legacy is one of kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Scott of Carthage, TX, daughters, Patricia Scott and husband Wayne, and Barbara Scott; sisters, Gayle Vincent and Karen Schmidt; his cherished grandchildren, Timothy, Sherie, Megan and Brittney Marris, Tayt, Karger, and Aeroll Heasley, Jeremy, John, and Angel Beccerril; great grandchildren, Lillie Mitten, Zaiden Pullen, Nancy and Hunter Denton, Aspen, Axton, and Arrow Smith, Jeremy, Jazlynn and Jayson Scott, Sofia Postelle and Juliana Beccerril. He now joins his Parents, brother Billy Wayne Scott, and daughter Brandi Jo Marris in eternal rest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring David’s spirit of generosity. Funeral services will be held at a later date, providing a time for family and friends to gather, share stories, and celebrate the remarkable life of this wonderful man. He will forever remain in our hearts, a true reflection of love, laughter, and familial warmth.
