Mrs. Edna Lorene Warf

Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene Warf, 83, of Lake Cherokee will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Hawthorn Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Anderson and Rev. David Baze officiating. Burial will follow in the Tatum Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Edna Lorene Kyle Warf was born on Sunday, September 17, 1939, in the Old Center Community of Panola County, Texas. She passed this life peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at her Lake Cherokee home. She was one of six children born to the marriage of Sidney and Mayro Barron Kyle. Lorene was raised in Old Center. She began school in Tenaha, later graduating from Carthage High School with the Bulldog class of 1957. She graduated from Shreveport Vo-Tech where she obtained her nursing credentials. She married William “Bill” Guy Warf, March 15, 1958, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage and three children before he preceded her in death in 2019. Mrs. Warf was a career nurse, working for Dr. W.C. Smith for many years and as the Carthage Junior High School Nurse. Lorene loved reading, gardening, and cooking for family. Her life was family and keeping up with every child and grandchild as she could. Lorene was a devout Christian eager to share her faith with those around her. Lorene is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert E. and Willard Langdon Kyle; and a grandson, Bryan Keith Warf. Mrs. Warf is survived by her loving children, William Keith Warf and wife Sandra of Tatum, Sharon Kimberly Robinson and husband Kerry of Henderson, and Wendy Warf Dobson and husband Jeryl of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Mattie Stillwell of Old Center, Dorothy Nell Lieber and husband G.R. of Shreveport, LA, and Teresa Beasley and husband Mike of Carthage; grandchildren, Corey Michael and Lexy Warf, Matthew David Shoffner and Arrie Jones, Teresa Kimberly Shoffner, Barron Scott Dobson, Sydney Blaire Dobson, and Crosby Claire Dobson; great grandchildren, Gianna Marie, Julie Lorene, Colton Bryan, Elijah Rocco, London Rose, Atrus Orion and Alexandra Jane Shoffner, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Corey Warf, Barron Dobson, Clint Cage, Kyle Cage, Bob Stillwell, Matthew Shoffner, Teresa Shoffner, and Steve Reyes.
