Mrs. Frances Clementine Lawhorn

Funeral services for Mrs. Clementine Lawhorn, 83, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Manning and Rev. Ken Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the Carthage City Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Frances Clementine Davis Lawhorn was born on Friday, November 4, 1938, in Gilmer, Texas. She passed this life on Sunday, August 28, 2022, in Tyler, Texas. Clementine was one of seven children born to the marriage of Jack and Linnie Laveda Lansdale Davis. She was raised and began schools in Karnack. She graduated from Carthage High School with the Bulldog class of 1957. Clementine married her love, Roy Wendell Lawhorn on Saturday, February 23, 1957, and together they celebrated 54 years of marriage and two daughters. Mrs. Lawhorn was a talented seamstress to her family and community. She was a longtime member of the Carthage Missionary Baptist Church, active in the ladies Auxiliary, VBS, and served as the church clerk. Clementine was a strong, giving woman devoted to her Lord and family above all else. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Carl Kenneth Davis, Jacqueline “Sis” Meek, Fred Davis, Terry Keith Davis, and David Davis; great grandchildren, Logan Miller, and Maylee Lawhorn; a nephew, Keith McIlwain; and great nephew, Brandon Seegers. Mrs. Lawhorn is survived by her loving daughters, Kim Miller and husband Willie of Carthage, Karen Bourliea and husband Jody of Carthage; sister, Sharon McIlwain and husband Jack of Carthage; sister-in-laws, Marie Davis of Carthage, and Julia Davis of Carrollton; grandchildren, Tabatha Miller, Curtis and Cassie Miller, Jason and Amy Miller, Joshua and Morgan Blissett, Jessica and Jonathan Stone, Tyler Lawhorn, Taylor and Justin Garza, Kolton and Hannah Worsham, Kimberlyn and Hunter Stevenson, Kenton Worsham, and Jayce Worsham; 22 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, a host of friends and her beloved dog, Brewster. Serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Miller, Joshua Blissett, Jason Miller, Tyler Lawhorn, Kolton Worsham, Kenton Worsham, Jayce Worsham. Honorary pallbearers are Cody, Caleb and Case Miller, Nash and Nate Dickson, Aaron Blissett, Klaeten Miller, Benjamin and Elijah Stone, Carson, Paxton and Mason Garza.
