Ms. JoDee Minter

Memorial services for Ms. JoDee Minter, 58, of Hutto, Texas will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Weaver and Bro. Bobby Pruitt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home. Ms. JoDee Minter was born February 5, 1960 in Tyler, Texas to Joe Dick and Janet Curtis Minter and passed away January 12, 2019 in Hutto, Texas. JoDee attended school in Carthage, where she played basketball for the Lady Bulldogs, graduating with the Class of 1978, the same year the Lady Bulldogs went to state. She continued her education and basketball career at Panola College and earned a degree in Petroleum Technology from North Texas State University. JoDee worked as the Director of Sales for Sam’s Town, Holiday Inn and Austin Marriott Hotels. She attended Hutto Bible Church. Her hobbies included sports and music, specifically golf, playing the drums and attending concerts. She was preceded in death by her parents. Ms. Minter is survived by her partner of 23 years, Sheri Smith of Hutto; sisters, Rosalynn Redding and husband J.R. of Beckville, Jill Stroud and husband Sid of Allen and Jeanee Minter of Carthage; nieces and nephews, Michelle Ingram of Beckville, Spencer Stroud of Dallas, Bethany Elrod and husband Zak of Allen, Meredith Stroud of Allen, Lauren Woods of College Station and T.J. Woods of Garland; great niece, McKenzie Ingram of Beckville, along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Murphy, Richard Anderson, Spencer Stroud, T.J. Woods, Scott Mills, Jack Smith and Dickey Holloway. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Celebrate Recovery. You can do so online at http://www.hcbcpf.com/online-giving.
