Mrs. Juanita Dean LaGrone

Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Dean LaGrone, 86, of Deadwood, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Andrews Rev. E.J. Adams and Mr. Roger McLane officiating. Burial will follow in the Deadwood Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Juanita Dean Emmons LaGrone was born July 7, 1934 in Fairplay, Texas. She passed this life August 16, 2020 peacefully at her sons home in Deadwood, Texas. Juanita was one of six children born to the marriage of Virgil Haywood and Myrtle Ellnor Scarborough Emmons. She was raised and schooled in the Fairplay community. Juanita married the love of her life, Roy Conway LaGrone April 5, 1952 in the Midyett community and they celebrated 54 years of marriage before he preceded her in death May 6, 2006. Juanita Dean was a loving, daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She loved her Lord above all else, and was a devoted lifelong member of the Deadwood U.P.C. “Niter Dean” as she was affectionately called raised poultry achieving first place quarterly winner as “Outstanding Broiler Producer” She loved catching up with friends over her phone, photography she collected of her family she loved, and friends she spent her time with. She is also preceded in death by her parents, sisters, JoNell LaGrone, Nelva Jean Wallace, and Mary Mixon, brothers, Johnny Emmons and Billy Emmons; great grandchild, Cohen Riley LaGrone. Mrs. LaGrone is survived by her children, Roy Gene LaGrone of Deadwood, Virgil David LaGrone and wife Charlotte of Deadwood; and Randy Joe LaGrone and wife Geneva of Deadwood; grandchildren, Wesley and Terry LaGrone, Pamela and Leslie Hicks, Melissa LaGrone, Glenita and Josh Jackson, Amanda and Scott Castillo, Jennifer and Joshua Baker, C.J. and Brandy LaGrone; Fourteen great grandchildren; Diane Gaspard whom she loved like a daughter: numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Wesley LaGrone, C.J. LaGrone, Keith Holland, Tyler Castillo, Colton LaGrone, Jadyn Baker, Jacob LaGrone, Justin LaGrone, Blayton LaGrone, Bransyn LaGrone, and Mason Jackson, honorary pallbearers are, Billy Hill Emmons, Dale LaGrone, Amos Joe Wallace, and Paul Emmons.
