Mrs. Judith "Judy" Elaine Barnes Simpson

Judith "Judy" Elaine Barnes Simpson, 71, of Carthage, Texas, formerly of Pampa, Texas, went to her heavenly home on August 14, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Bethel Cemetery in Clayton, Texas. Services were officiated by Cameron Anderson. A come and go memorial reception will be held at Clayton Community Center from 12-3 pm. Please bring and wear face covering for added health protection. Judy was born October 4, 1948 in Vivian, Louisiana to Henry Raymond and Aurelia Elaine Berry Barnes and was the eldest of three siblings. Judy attended Lefors school where she graduated Lefors High School in 1967 lettering in Basketball. As a long-time resident of Pampa, she was married for 20 years to Jerry Lloyd Simpson, and raised their two daughters in Pampa. Judy worked 23 years at The Medical & Surgical Clinic as Assistant Office Manager for Drs. Whitsell, Hampton and Ashby. She enjoyed league bowling and playing golf. She was a member of the Pampa Country Club Ladies Golf Association. In 1991 she moved to Carthage to be closer to her parents and siblings. Judy worked for Marshall Glass and Martin Lake Construction before retiring in Carthage. Judy had a very loving, kind and sweetheart. She loved and missed her friends from Pampa and loved her Carthage friends she made along the way. She never met a stranger. Her laugh, witty sense of humor, kindness and orneriness will be greatly missed by all. Judy is survived by her two daughters, Heather Simpson of Dallas, Texas and Heidi Barnett, and husband Steven of Mineola, Texas: brother, Russell Barnes and wife June of Clayton, Texas and brother-in-law Tommy Knight of Clayton, Texas. She was a proud aunt to Justin Knight, and wife Melissa; Gigi Dixon and husband Landon; Trey Barnes and wife Dawn; Kristen Weinheimer and husband Matt and Mark Largin. Eight great nieces and nephews Kirsty Knight, Cade Dixon, Taylor Dixon, Brant Barnes, Tate Barnes, Drew Weinheimer, Jack Weinheimer, and Anna Weinheimer. Two grandchildren, Casey Barnett, and Lindsey Barnett and one Great Granddaughter, Skye Williams. Special heartfelt thank you from Heather and Heidi to Lori Morris, Martha Poindexter and family, and Bobbie Hartley. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Henry Raymond Barnes, Aurelia Elaine Berry Barnes and sister Brenda Gayle Barnes Knight.
