Mrs. Margaret Lenox

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Lenox, 81, of Gary, Texas will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in the Corinth Cemetery with Nathan Lenox officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Margaret Louise Harris Lenox was born February 5, 1941, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She passed this life October 7, 2022, in Longview, Texas. Margaret was one of eight children born to the marriage of Dora Rudolph and Hermie Lee Robinson Harris. She completed schools in Clayton, Texas. Margaret married Albert Eugene “Gene” Lenox in 1960 and they celebrated 54 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2014. Mrs. Lenox worked for the Gary I.S.D. in the cafeteria for over 20 years. She loved her Lord and was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church. Margaret was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cake decorating, sewing, cooking, crafting and bingo. She is also preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael Lee Lenox, grandson, Nicholas Miles Lenox, and siblings, Frances Hall, Dora Mae Molandes, Patsy Harris, Harris Hooper, and Janice Almany. Mrs. Lenox is survived by her loving children, Rejeana Wilkerson and husband Jimmy Beasley of Gary, Wayne Lenox and wife Michaela of Carthage, Kathy Collins and Shawn Knipe of Tyler; brother, Tommy Harris and wife Laura of Center, sister, Peggy Fuller of Gary; brother-in-law, Don Almany of Lake Charles, LA; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Craig Collins, Ryan Collins, Caleb Lenox, Nathan Lenox, Jonathan Barrett, Brian Welch, and Jacob Miller. Our earthly angel is now our heavenly angel. Her legacy will live on for generations to come. To know her was to love her. A shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, a caretaker & a peace maker. That was our MeMaw. She was a military wife, mother of 4 and Memaw to many. She lit a up a room when you were in her presence- she had an amazing sense of humor & unshakeable faith in God. She loved & lived life with the heart of a warrior & the spirit of a woman of faith. The memories she left in the hearts of those who loved her will never fade away. She has earned her place in heaven by her service to the Lord & others here on Earth. May we all live a little bit more like MeMaw.
