Mr. Raymond Eric "Ricky" Granier

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Raymond Eric “Ricky” Granier, 66, of Gary, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church with Father Steve Paradis officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Hawthorn Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. in the Hawthorn Chapel. Ricky was born on August 31, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Julius and Joann Viola Granier. He passed away peacefully at his home in Gary, Texas, on July 21, 2026. One of three children, Ricky was raised in St. Rose, Louisiana, where he attended school. Throughout his career, he worked as a mechanic, truck driver, and shop foreman until his retirement. While he took great pride in his work, his true passion was ranching and the simple joys of country life. On April 27, 1996, Ricky married the love of his life, Joyce Marie Duhon. Together they shared 30 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Ricky was a devoted member of St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church and faithfully served as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ricky was happiest when restoring old cars, spending time on the ranch, and enjoying the company of family and friends. He had a mischievous sense of humor, loved teasing those around him, and had a special gift for making people laugh. His kindness, wit, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Granier. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Joyce Granier of Gary; his mother, Joann Snow and husband Donald of Tomball; daughters, Kendra Davis and husband James of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Kelsey Kojis and Jerome of Gary, Texas; brother, Michael Granier and wife Sandra of Spring, Texas; sister, Ellen Fritz and husband Seth of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Denver and Dylan Butler of Taylor, Arkansas, Cooper Young of Tatum, Texas, Jayda Dizmond and Levi Dizmond of Gary, Texas, Maverick Morton of Gary, Texas, and Eli and Harley Davis of Shongaloo, Louisiana; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of dear friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Hooper, Whidden Thompson, Patrick Harris, Sean Reynolds, Eddie Blue, and Bubba Minter.
