Mr. Richard Bains

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Bains, 69, of Carthage, Texas will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Allen Tilley officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, March 18, 2018 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Richard Lenice Bains was born February 22, 1950 in Monahans, Texas to Lenice Hubert and Willie Jerrine Rogers Bains and passed away March 16, 2019 in Tyler, Texas. Richard attended Monahans schools, graduating with the Class of 1968. He then graduated Mt. Carmel Jr. College in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. He worked for over 45 years as a Drag Line Specialist for several companies that included Texas Utilities, Minserco, Caterpillar, and currently Holt. Richard married Sandra Jo Pierce and together they celebrated 30 years of marriage. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carthage and the Jubilee Sunday School Class. He loved spending time outdoors with family and friends hunting, fishing, and making knives. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles, David and Donald Bains and sisters, Ruby Davidson and Joy Frymire. Richard is survived by his loving wife Sandra Bains of Carthage; children, Richelle Blount of Rockport; Ashlee Alexander and husband Billy of Carthage and Trenton Allison and wife Dana of Carthage; brother, Randy Bains of Carthage; sisters, Barbara Preslar of Abilene, Marie Nabors and husband Harold of DeLeon, Nancy Riggin and husband Jerry of Madison, GA and Bonnie Petigo and husband D.V. of Midland; grandchildren, Fisher Blount Hunter and Conner Alexander, and Cadee Spry; sisters-in-law, Gayle Bains of Hewitt, and Patricia Bains of Lubbock; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peggy and Jerry Anderson of Carthage; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, David Gray, Hunter Gray, Rodney Weaver, Louis Powell, Dean Jeffress, and Dan Bruner.
