Ricky Baker

Funeral services for Mr. Ricky Baker, 57, of the Lake Murvual Community will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Newton Hambrick and Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. Mr. Baker died April 11, 2012, peacefully at his home on Lake Murvaul. Mr. Ricky Dale Baker was born July 26, 1954 in Livingston, Texas. He was the youngest of seven children born to the marriage of James Enoch and Billie B. Hammett Baker. James was raised and schooled in Leggett, later graduating from Beckville High School with the class of 1972. Mr. Baker worked throughout his life as a professional truck driver. He married Donna Faye Whitlow August 1, 2002. Ricky loved hunting, fishing and spending time with family and grandkids. He was a friend to all he knew, always singing and whistling through life. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William Horace “Bill’ and Wendell Baker and grandchild, Kelly Postell. Mr. Baker is survived by his loving wife, Donna Baker of Lake Murvaul, children, April Dawn Baker Broussard and husband Chad of Hamburg, LA, Roger Dale Wilson and wife Jennifer of Carthage, Lance Wilson and wife Tina of Michigan, Alisha Postell and husband Kevin “Bones” of Beckville and Anita Moore and husband Steven of Carthage, siblings, Edna Camber and husband E.J. of New Braunfels, James D. Baker of Lake Murvaul, Judy Rucker and husband Jerry of Longview, Sherry Brown and husband Marshall of Tatum and sister-in-law, Mary Baker of Batesville, AR, grandchildren, Erica Baker of Hamburg, LA, Brittany Gentry of Hamburg, LA, Nathan Gentry of Hamburg, LA, Curstyn Hammer of Carthage, D.J. Tucker of Carthage, Kimberlyn Wilson, Abigail Wilson both of Carthage, Tye Kane, Trenton Kane, Kimberlyn Wilson, Rose Wilson all of Michigan, Jossie Postell, Kody Postell, Nicholas Moore, Blake Moore, Kendley Moore, Cannon Moore all of Carthage, one great granddaughter, Addison Mae Hammer, Special cousin, Becky None Patrick of Carthage, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Chad Broussard, Steven Moore, Kevin “Bones” Postell, Lance Wilson, Roger Wilson, John Michael Baker, honorary pallbearers will be, Randy Stone and Eddie Reed.
