Roger Hampton

Funeral services for Mr. Roger L. Hampton, 57 of Elysian Fields, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. David Urban officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow at Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be Monday, August 8, 2011 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hampton went to be with his Lord as a result of a tragic accident on Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Waskom, Texas. Roger L. Hampton was born on January 26, 1954 in Wilmington, Ohio, the son of Robert Hampton and Ruby Campbell of Wilmington, Ohio. He was employed by Select Energy Services, as a field coordinator. Prior to that, he was employed with Hopewell Oil Field Company for 25 years. Mr. Hampton was a member of the Robert A. Thompkins Masonic Lodge, #1254 in Waskom, Texas and the First Methodist Church in Wilmington, Ohio. Roger enjoyed working on cars, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, and brother-in-law, Tony Poe. Mr. Hampton is survived by his loving wife, Tess Wilbanks Hampton of Elysian Fields; father, Robert Hampton, Sr. and wife Janie of Wilmington, OH; sons, Roger Hampton, Jr., Chris Hampton and wife Bren of Dallas, Robert Hampton and wife Kelley of Marshall and Robert Willbanks of Elysian Fields; daughters, Krista Wilbanks of Elysian Fields, and Pattie Brewster of Elysian Fields; brothers, Robert Hampton and wife Linda of Panola and Charles Daly of Arrey, NM; sisters, Brenda Holly and husband Jim of Baker City, OR, Joy Poe and husband Michael Rogers of Panola, Pamela Hodson and husband Randy of Panola, Wendy Quigley and husband Kevin of Wilmington, OH, Kathy Decker and husband Mike of Wilmington, OH and Bobbie Estell and husband Shelby of Wilmington, OH; grandchildren, Sierra, Logan, Harley, Hunter, Ashley and Nicolas, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Hampton, Donald Hodson, Bobbie Gall, Jacob Hodson, Robbie Hampton and Robbie Willbanks.
