Mr. Rufino Duran Medrano

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Rufino Duran Medrano, 80, of Carthage, Texas will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Paradis officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday 6:00-9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Rufino Duran Medrano was born July 10, 1943, in Juchipila, Zacatecas. He was one of nine children born to Juan Duran and Maria Medrano. He married Felipa Rodriguez and they had five children. Mr. Duran Medrano spent his career in horticulture. He had a talent of growing chili peppers, flowers, and fruit trees. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Virginia Duran, Guadalupe Duran, Abigail Duran, Miguel Duran and Eliazar Duran. Mr. Duran Medrano is survived by his loving wife, Felipa Duran; children, Heriberto Duran and wife Silvia, Ruben Duran and wife Maria, Daniel Duran, Efrain Duran and wife Veronica, and Maria Hernandez and husband Gonzalo; siblings, Isidro Duran, Alicia Duran and husband Mauro, and Agripina Duran, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Heriberto Duran, Ruben Duran, Gonzalo Hernandez, Heriberto Duran, Jr., Ruben Duran Jr., Javier Duran, Jose Duran, and Eduardo Hernandez. El Sr. Durán Medrano desarrolló su carrera en horticultura. Tenía talento para cultivar chiles, flores y árboles frutales. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, hermanos, Virginia Durán, Guadalupe Durán, Abigail Durán, Miguel Durán y Eliazar Durán. Al Sr. Durán Medrano le sobrevive su amada esposa, Felipa Durán; hijos, Heriberto Durán y esposa Silvia, Rubén Durán y esposa María, Daniel Durán, Efraín Durán y esposa Verónica, y María Hernández y esposo Gonzalo; hermanos, Isidro Durán, Alicia Durán y esposo Mauro, y Agripina Durán, 14 nietos, 14 bisnietos; numerosos sobrinas, sobrinos y una gran cantidad de amigos. Como portadores del féretro estarán Heriberto Durán, Rubén Durán, Gonzalo Hernández, Heriberto Durán, Jr., Rubén Durán Jr., Javier Durán, José Durán y Eduardo Hernández.
