Tracy Parker

Funeral services for Mr. Tracy Parker, 88 of Carthage, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Terry Holland and Rev. Wade Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 5:00 p.m. Tuesday evening until 8:00 p.m. at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Parker died October 10 peacefully at his home in the Del Ray Community. Mr. Tracy Parker was born September 27, 1922 in the Fairplay Community of Panola County, Texas. He was one of four children born to the marriage of Alton James and Amanda Jane McLeroy Parker. Tracy was schooled in rural Walton Community schools later graduating form Carthage High School with the class of 1942. Tracy met Jonisue “Sue” Robinson and they married March 5, 1946 and together celebrated 64 years together. Mr. Parker spent his life and career as a plumber, later working for over 20 years for Panola College as the Maintenance Director. He was a lifelong cattle rancher active in the Junior Livestock Show and served in the Cattleman's Association receiving the Blazer Award. Mr. Parker was a lifelong member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by two baby sisters, Agnes and Alma Parker. Mr. Parker is survived by his loving wife, Sue Parker of Carthage: children, Sandra Calver and husband Steve of Savannah, GA, Nicky Parker and wife Jeanette of Carthage, Johnny Parker and wife Pam of Ardmore, OK, Melinda Gatewood and husband William of Carthage: brother, Walter Parker and wife Mary of Carthage; grandchildren, Jeff Calver and wife Christina of Savannah, GA, Patrick Calver and wife Michelle Calver of Savannah, GA, Jennifer White and husband Lake of Savannah, GA and Will Calver of Savannah, GA, Mace Parker of Carthage, Page Schatz and husband Dustin of Kilgore, Darcy Parker of Carthage, Casey Steudeman and husband Will of Ft. Bragg, N.C., Jamie Parker of Nacogdoches, Matt Parker of Carthage and Chris Graham of Carthage: great grandchildren, Madisson Blitch, Geniveve and Sheldon White, Lane, Ethan and Chloe Schatz, Parker Steudeman; nieces and nephews, Scott and Belinda Parker, Shelby, Chase and Rileigh all of Carthage. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jeffrey Calver, Patrick Calver, Will Calver, Mace Parker, Chris Graham and Matt Parker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Royce Ross, Earle Powell, Travis Wall, Nolan Malone, David Williams, Bill Peace, Bob Shuttlesworth, J.P. Mills, Sam Dillard and Rayon Allison.
