Graveside services for Mr. Wallace Davidson, 88 of Beckville, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Rock Hill Cemetery with Bro. John Gradberg officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Davidson passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in Carthage, Texas. Mr. Wallace Howell Davidson was born December 26, 1922 in the Rock Hill Community of Panola County, Texas. He was one of seven children born to the marriage of Augustus Howell and Zoe Ethel Chapman Davidson. Wallace was raised and attended schools in the rural Rock Hill community. Mr. Davidson served his country in the U. S. Navy, being trained as a pharmacist, then continued to serve in the U. S. Coast Guard and the National Guard. He married Lena Faye Osburn and they celebrated many years together. Mr. Davidson served many terms as the Beckville City Mayor, a constable, and he worked as a contractor for several years in the construction industry. Wallace was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Beckville. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Mr. Davidson is survived by his wife, Lena Faye Davidson of Beckville, Texas; children, Carolyn Rathbun of Arp, Texas; Jerry Davidson of Rock Hill, Texas; Billy Davidson and wife, Carolynn of Wills Point, Texas; and Vicki Briggs and husband, Ronnie of Rock Hill; step-children, Glenda David of Dallas, Don Brown of Denton, and Larry Brown of St. Augustine; grandchildren, Wayne and Monica Rathbun of Shreveport, Louisiana, Cheryl Parham of Frierson, Louisiana, Shane and Pam Brightwell of Pittstown, New Jersey, Tamara and Jimi Mankins of Kilgore, Ben and Cindy Davidson of Beckville, Carol and Kenny Martin of Missouri, Brent and Rocsie Brightwell of Cedar Park, Denise and Chad Lindsey of Gladewater, Michelle and Chris Petrus of Fairhope, Alabama, William Davidson of Wills Point, Ron and Shawna Briggs of Carthage, and Kelli Briggs of Beckville; great-grandchildren, Christopher Parham, Brittney Brightwell, Cameron Brightwell, Zack Rathbun, Kolby Briggs, Jace Mankins, Savannah Petrus, Macy Briggs, Nicholas Parham, Bailey McGuire, and Jayden Mankins, Bridget Martin, Michael Davidson, Brandon Barton, Brayden Lindsey, Braxon Lindsey, Abby Parham, Colton Davidson, Logan Briggs, Paige Brightwell, Kaden Brightwell, Lael Brightwell, Reece Rathbun, Madison Petrus, and Gabriel Pyle; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
