Mr. William Scott Draper

Funeral services for Mr. Scott Draper, 64, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Jackson officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. William Scott Draper was born November 1, 1960 in Henderson, Texas. He passed this life November 16, 2024 at his Carthage, Texas home. Scott was born to the marriage of Barbara Ann Cooper and William B. Draper. He was raised and schooled in Henderson at West Rusk. He left school at 15 to work for his dad in the oil field and would continue for 49 years. He worked over 30 years for Patterson U.T.I. drilling. Scott loved to piddle in his shop. He would craft woodwork and carpentry. He loved to travel and make runs on the Harley. Scott loved fishing, although it was never good, but most importantly spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his father; sister, Cindy Draper; wife, Carla Michelle Draper; step father, Ray Leake; brother at heart, Jimmie Stepan. Mr. Draper is survived by his devoted wife Teri Draper of Carthage; Mother Barbara Leake of Lufkin; children; Wayne Williams and wife Kacy Bruner Williams of Carthage, Amber and husband Jason “Leebo” Lee of Carthage, Ashley Porter and husband Russ of Gary; step children, Cody Lucas of Jena, LA, Devan Lucas of Rayville, LA, Dezie Stanley and husband Allen of Rayville, LA; sister, Patti Draper of Lufkin; Special friend Julie Stepan; proud Pappy of grandchildren, Zaiden, Anniston, Ruby, Rylee, Layton, Gatlyn, Slayton, Keeston, Daxton, Bransyn, Ashton, Port, Kaegan, Laney, James, Rylee, Ryder, Ben, Chunky, Madilyn, S.J.; in-laws, Tammy Waters and husband Albert of Carthage, Bobby Bozeman of Carthage, Traci Bagley and husband J.B. of Carthage, Shane Richard and wife Kelli of Elysian Fields; Donna Richard of Carthage and Howard Beasley of Carthage; nieces and nephews, Clarissa Shumate, Kaylee Sparks, Michael Williams, Chris Williams, Amanda Spurger, Kendrick Bozeman, Tommy Bozeman, Brady Guillam, Braxton Richard, Robert Richard, Gabe Richard, and Baley Roberts, numerous great nieces and nephews and Grandchildren and a host of friends along with two fur babies Ruckus and Rip. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Bobby Bozeman, Jason “Leebo” Lee, Russ Porter, Tommy Bozeman, Terry Cortez, Bo Henry, Shane Richard, Michael Williams, Braxton Richard, Robert Richard, Chris Williams, Brady Gulliam and Kendrick Bozeman.
