    Mrs. Barbara Pinkston

    February 17, 1949 - March 3, 2022

    Barbara Jewel (Robison) Toon Pinkston was born February 17, 1949 in Harper, Kansas to the late Jerrel W. “Jack” Robison and Noma Lorene (Prentice). She arrived in Heaven on March 3, 2022 at the age of 73. Barbara attended Aldine High School in Houston and Panola College. She was the pharmacy manager at the hospital in Carthage before retiring after 35 years of service. She was a member of Jackson Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Barbara was artistic and creative. She loved to sew, paint, scrapbook and decorate. Ancestry and genealogy were also of great interest to her as she compiled information and photos from many generations on all sides of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jean Robison, and Lorene and B.H. Pierce, husband, Charles A. Toon, brother, Roger Robison; stepbrothers, Barry Pierce, David Pierce, and stepsister, Kay Prentice; and stepsons, Clifton Toon and Curtis Toon. Barbara is survived by her devoted and loyal husband, Willie F. “Bill” Pinkston of Deadwood; brothers, Jack W. Robison, Jr. and wife, Sarah of Mineola and Gerald D. Robison and wife, Tonja of Houston; stepsister, Mary Ann Jolley and husband, Joe of Center; stepbrothers, Dennis Pierce and Wife, Mary Kay of Evant; Daryl Pierce and wife, Elizabeth of Smithfield; loving children, Tammy Nickell and husband, Shawn of Clayton, Kevin Toon of Carthage, Crystal Bovaird and husband, Jim of Fort Worth; Cindy Lovelady and husband, Terry of Destin, Florida, and Corey Toon of Carthage; stepchildren, Sharon Ventura and husband, Ray of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Charlie Toon and wife, Tami of Houston; and Karen Alfaro and husband, Adam of Wylie; 21 Grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and her church family. A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Jackson Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin with Bro. Orville Farren and Bro. Jerry Newman officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2022 at Hawthorn Funeral Home in Carthage. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home.
