Mr Billy Ray Tinkle

Funeral services for Mr. Billy Tinkle, 71, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Comer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service Monday. Mr. Billy Ray Tinkle was born May 7, 1950, in Long Branch, Texas. He passed this life April 28, 2022, in Carthage, Texas. Billy was one of nine children born to the marriage of Robert Virgil and Johnie Toy Lee Tinkle. He was raised and schooled in Carthage. Billy married Mary Jane Minnigh and they celebrated 33 years together. Billy served his country through the U.S. Army in Vietnam as an army medic. Mr. Tinkle was a master mechanic and spent many years as a pipeline inspector. He was a member of the Still Waters Cowboy Church, loved his family and friends, if you knew Billy, you loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Danny, Fred, Rayford, and Virgil Tinkle and sister, Judy Lawhorn. Mr. Tinkle is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane Tinkle of Carthage; sons, Cody Tinkle of Nacogdoches, and Spencer Mills and wife April of Deadwood; daughter, Miki Brevard of Nacogdoches; brothers, Tracy Tinkle and wife Peggy of Gary, Bert Tinkle of Kingwood, Raymond Tinkle and wife Connie of Garrison, Chris Gaston and husband Tom of Nacogdoches; special sister-in-law, Frances Tinkle of Carthage; brother-in-law, Wayne Lawhorn of Carthage; grandchildren, Stacie Simmons, Cal Mills, Alaina Brevard, Alex Mills, and Meygan Mills; three great grandchildren and two on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Will Williams, Jason Tinkle, Kenneth Pipkin, Robby Tinkle, Jeremy Pollard, and Mark Harris.
