Mrs. Brenda Youngblood

Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Youngblood, 74, of Timpson will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home Mrs. Brenda Ophelia Davis Youngblood was born December 18, 1948, in Houston, Texas. She passed this life February 8, 2023, peacefully at her Timpson, Texas home surrounded by family. Brenda was one of seven children born to the marriage of Horace Samuel and Ella Nellene McSween Davis. She was raised in Cleveland attending schools in Shepherd, Texas. She married her love Carroll Wayne Youngblood September 10, 1965, and together they celebrated 57 years of marriage and four children. She was a loving homemaker and worked for The Panola Watchman, The Violet Shop and Robin’s Nest Daycare. Brenda loved her Lord and family above all else. She was a faithful servant in the Enterprise Missionary Baptist Church for 50 years. She always put others first being faithful to her family, church family and friends. Those close to Brenda can attest to her faithful words of encouragement through phone calls, visitation, cards, to all. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Preston Davis, and David Davis; sisters, Reba Ivey, Gloria Gibson, and an infant sister. Mrs. Youngblood is survived by her devoted husband Carroll Wayne Youngblood of Timpson; children, Billy Wayne Youngblood of Gary, Karen Annette Jones and husband Chris of Pensacola, FL, James A. Youngblood and wife Donna Sue of Gary, Charles Lester Youngblood and wife Jenny of Gary; stepson, Anthony Youngblood of Quitman; brother, John Travis “Mickey” Meeks Jr. of Point Blank; 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Matt Youngblood, Josh Youngblood, Jacob Youngblood, Zackary McBride, Colby Gipson and Cameron Gipson. Honorary pallbearers will be, Andy Youngblood, Henry Marx, Jens Youngblood, Jacob Jones, Tristin Kiper, Brenden Kiper, Allen Fraiser, Joseph Higgins, and Kevin Rollins. Donations may be made in her honor to the Gideons International or missionary work. The family wishes to thank Accent Hospice and all their team for such excellent care.
