Mr. Danny Miller

Funeral services for Mr. Danny Miller, 59, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2019 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday night at the funeral home. Mr. Danny Leon Miller was born August 10, 1960 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed this life September 5, 2019 peacefully at his home in Carthage, Texas. Danny was born to the marriage of Margie Nell Walker and Joseph Leon Miller. He began schools in Longview and moved to Carthage graduating with the class of 1978. Danny worked for Texas Utilities for 13 years and many years for Ransom Drilling. Danny married Marilyn Ruth Wellborn March 9, 1996 and they celebrated 23 years of marriage. He loved Nascar racing, singing, playing the guitar, fiddle, mandolin and anything with a string. He is preceded in death by his father, sister, Dixilyn Miller and Debra Miller Weaver. Mr. Miller is survived by his, wife, Marilyn Miller of Carthage; mother, Margie Marie of Marshall; step children, Melissa Davis of Midland, Christy Campbell and husband Wes of Carthage, and Michael Sparks of Carthage; brother, Dudley Miller of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Matt Davis, Marissa Hammers, Kelsey May, Kendal Curry, Cole Campbell, Peyton Sparks, and Kyla Sparks; and six great grandchildren; lifelong friend, Greg Ransom of Carthage; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Matt Davis, Greg Ransom, Brad Boren, Craig Swindler, Don Walker, Ben Caudle and honorary pallbearers will be, Cole Campbell, and Mark Barts, Brandon Hammers, Mitch Davis and Wes Campbell.
