    February 19, 1931 - May 27, 2021

    Hawthorn Funeral Home announces the passing of Ms. Elsie Mae Hall, 90, of Carthage, Texas. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home. Ms. Elsie Mae Hall was born February 19, 1931 in Aurora, North Carolina. She passed this life May 27, 2021 peacefully at her Carthage, Texas home. Elsie was one of eight children born to the marriage of William Riley and Girtha Mae Kirman Hall. She was raised and graduated high school in North Carolina. Ms. Hall worked in mine maintenance at the Hill Air Force Base in Utah, she was a dedicated journalist working for many publications. She served as president of 3-HO and later in life spent more time enjoying her artistic pursuits such as painting. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James LeRoy, William Rodney, Benjamin Smith, and Marshall Kirman Hall; sisters, Girtha Lenora Hall Wyatt Wroten, Clara Virginia Hall, and Mary Frances Hall Skogman. Ms. Hall is survived by her loving children, Debbie Scholl of Carthage, Dan Kozerski and wife Terri of Ogden, UT, and David Kozerski and wife Julie of Jacksonville, FL; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
