Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Cassady, 74, of Beckville, Texas will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Sanctuary of Pentecost with Bro. Dennis Landtroop officiating. Burial will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Urania Cemetery in Urania, Louisiana under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Helen Autina Guin Cassady was born June 5, 1944 in Lena, Louisiana to Mallie M. and Gladys Arnold Guin. She passed from this life and into her heavenly home on September 28, 2018 in Carthage, Texas. Helen married the love of her life and best friend, James Marvin Cassady on December 19, 1960 in Sharp, Louisiana and together they celebrated 57 years. She was a member of the Sanctuary of Pentecost in Carthage since 1976. Helen was a devoted wife, creative soul with a green thumb, dedicated prayer warrior and a Godly woman. Her humble spirit and contagious smile touched so many. She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister and brother; and sister, Bonnie Ruth Rester. Mrs. Cassady is survived by her loving husband, James Marvin “Hoppy” Cassady of Beckville; sister, Barbara Babcock and husband Joe of Tullos, LA; four brothers, William “John” Guin and wife Barbara of Colfax, LA, Milo Guin and wife Deborah of Xenia, OH, Steve Guin and wife Wanda of Tullos, LA, and Nathan Guin and wife Angel of Newellton, LA. Helen is also survived by her sisters-in-love, Mia Poole and Neline Adams; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Perez, Michael Tibbs, Nathan Boutin, Chance White, Nathan Guin and Gary Beatriz. The family suggests memorial donations be made in Mrs. Cassady’s name to Hospice Plus, 414 East Loop 281, Suite 5, Longview, Texas 75605 or to the Sanctuary of Pentecost in Carthage.
