Memorial services for Mr. Jack Horan, 85, of DeBerry, Texas will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Carthage, Texas. Rev. James Williams, Rev. Sandy Hoover and Rev. Aaron Burwell officiating. His ashes will be lain to rest in the Vaughn Cemetery in Vaughn, Texas next to his wife. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Jack Franklin “Jug” Horan was born February 9, 1937, in Ennis, Texas. He passed this life February 12, 2022, in Longview, Texas. He was the baby of seven children born to the marriage of Claude and Addie Mae David Horan. He was raised in Arlington graduating high school, served in the U.S. Army and married his love, Beverly Merle Allen and they celebrated almost 58 years of marriage and three children. Mr. Horan was a truck driver by trade retiring from Roadway in 1998 after 30 years of service. He attended Athey Baptist Church in Harleton. He was an avid pilot, loved flying his three planes, spending time camping with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings; Pat Horan, Claude Horan Jr., Thomas Horan, Catherine Gober, and James Horan. Mr. Horan is survived by his devoted children, daughter, Traci Williams and husband Billy of DeBerry; sons Jay Horan and wife Lissa of Marshall, David Horan and wife Stacy of Harleton; sister, Ann Bishop and husband John of Arlington; sisters-in-law, Linda Horan of Burleson, Charlene Horan of Riverside, CA, and Dorine Horan of Englewood, Tennessee; grandchildren, Taylor and Ryan Coco, Lynsey Hagan and Lucas, Stephanie Horan, Jesse, John, and Brittney Williams, Jacob and Kayla Horan, Tucker Horan, Sarah Horan, Jay and Victoria Horan; 14 great grandchildren and one on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
