    Mr. Jason Weldon Gray

    October 12, 1983 - August 2, 2018

    Funeral services for Mr. Jason Weldon Gray, 34 of Carthage, Texas will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018 in the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aaron Bequette officiating. Burial will follow in Adams Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday night from 6 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Jason Weldon Gray was born October 12, 1983 in Tyler, Texas to James Deral and Vanessa Jeanette Beamon Gray and passed away August 2, 2018 in Carthage, Texas. He was schooled in Rusk and Gary schools and worked as a painter for Penner Construction. Jason married Shasta Diane Creech on May 11, 2018. He loved horses and spending time outdoors fishing and camping, but his passion was spending time with his kids. Jason was preceded in death by his father, James Deral Gray; brother, James Brian Gray; grandmother, Karen Beamon; grandfather, James Weldon Gray. Jason is survived by his loving wife Shasta Gray of Carthage; mother, Vanessa Foster and husband Joe of Carthage; step-mother, Patty Birdwell of Jacksonville; grandfather, Gene Beamon of Iola; grandmother, Rebecca Gray of Maydelle; great grandfather, James Robert Beamon of Normangee; children, Jaylie Kate Gray, Ally Nicole Gray and Jason Deral “J.D.” Gray; step-children, Julia Rayne Patton and Emilee Diane Patton; sisters, Amanda Click and husband Sammy of Alto, Cristal Hicks and husband Mark James of Carthage and Lezah Foster of Carthage; step-sisters, Sarah Stephens and husband Blake of Tyler, Kimberly Brown and husband Kevin Inglehart of Jacksonville and Autumn Foster of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Hicks, Sammy Click, Quinton Creech, Clancey O’Bryan, Chris Benitez, Zach Hudson and Shawn Davis. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Gray. Memorials may be made in Jason Gray’s name at First State Bank in Carthage for funeral expenses.
