    Mrs. Kathryn Graves Walker

    March 14, 1930 - June 14, 2022

    Graveside funeral service for Mrs. Kathryn Graves Walker will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Walnut Springs Cemetery with Mr. Craig Evers and Bro. Marvin Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Kathryn Graves Walker, 92 of Marshall, Texas, passed this life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Carthage, Texas. She was born on Friday, March 14, 1930, in Hugo, Oklahoma to parents Marvin Graves and Willie Mae Langford. Mrs. Walker was a nurse’s aide for Colonial Parks Nursing Home in Marshall for over 20 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was raised and schooled in Gary, Texas. She married her first husband, Billy Briggs, in May 1946 and he preceded her in death in December 1973. Mrs. Walker remarried in 1983 and her and Mr. Walker celebrated 32 years together before he passed away. In addition to her two husbands, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Juanice Breshers, Nita Cypert and Virginia Gill, brother, Marin Graves, son, Curtis Briggs, one great granddaughter, Brandy Savage and a great, great grandson, Miles Kennedy Warren. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Dutton and her husband, Tommy of Marshall; daughter in law, Janet Briggs of Harleton; brother, Glen Graves of Florida; sisters, Marlin Sue Williams of Junction, Jeanett Tiger of New Jersey and Norma Donnel of Seymore, Texas; grandchildren, Teresa Lungren and husband David, Chanda Telischak and husband Shane, Michael Warren, Joel Warren and his wife Angela. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Warren, Joel Warren, Christopher Warren, Alex Warren, Cody Warren, and Jonathan Savage.
