    Mr. Leldon Leon "L.L." Williams

    November 20, 1928 - October 9, 2018

(This is a courtesy obituary, please note the location of services) Leldon Leon Williams was born in Cullman, Alabama on November 20, 1928. It appears he could fix any broken thing, invent a box of parts that could do anything except rebuild the burnt out ashes of his beloved barn full of tools. A year ago his barn full of the entire inventory of Harbor Freight burned to the ground. At that point L. L. made his imminent reservations for heaven. A veteran of World War II and an alumni of Auburn University, he was married to Joan Turner Williams of Gadsden, Alabama for 70 years. He is the father of two boys, Rusty Williams with his wife LeAnn reside in Carthage, Texas and David Williams with his wife Kenua reside in New Berlin, Texas. His face always beamed at the thought or sight of his two granddaughters, Laura Williams and Julia Williams Tomlinson and husband Trevor. Working as a design engineer in the steel mill industry since 1953 until retirement in Liberty, Texas, L. L. was responsible for steel production innovation used world wide today. A deacon at Heights Baptist Church for 40 years, he and his wife Joan were very active in their church. L.L. was known for his ability to fix anything. He made several mission trips with the Baptist Men to build new homes for those who lost their homes in storms. After a quick repair of one of the wheel bearings, he boarded his chariot to heaven October 9, 2018 at the age of 89. Visitation for L.L. will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Faith and Family Funeral Home in Batson, Texas followed by a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. Entombment will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at Lakeview Cemetery in Longview, Texas.
