    Mrs. Mary Charlene Ayers

    October 19, 1940 - January 8, 2019

    Hawthorn Funeral Home announces the passing of Mary Charlene Ayers, 78, of Gary, Texas. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Mary Ayers was born October 19, 1940 in Ft. Worth, Texas and passed this life January 8, 2019 in Carthage, Texas. She was born to the marriage of Marvin Reed and Annie Mae Wise Watson. Mary was raised and schooled in Chappell Hill and Arlington, Texas. She married G.W. Ayers and they raised three children. Mary would work in the family business as treasurer for Contractors Building Services, Inc. Mrs. Ayers spent her life quietly supporting her family and those around her she loved. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Norman, Tinkle, Marvin, Audrey Dale, Marion and Shirley. Mrs. Ayers is survived by her devoted husband, G.W. Ayers of Gary, children, Michael Duane Ayers and Vickie Daniel of Nacogdoches, Travis Van Ayers and wife Kami Jo of Alexandria, MN, and Julie Lee Osborn and husband Lee of Gary; sisters, Pam and Gayle; six grandchildren, Justin Paul Ayers, Joshua Reed Ayers, Nicholas Cory Osborn, Cody Wayne Osborn, Ashley Perimon, and Brandon Ayres, numerous great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a host of friends.
