Graveside funeral services for Ms. Mary “Ginger” Fonville, 75 of Panola, Texas will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Walnut Springs Cemetery with Pastor Gene Evans officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Ms. Fonville was born on Monday, April 14, 1947, in Marshall, Texas, to parents Robert Richard Sr and Lorene Sutlive Fonville. She passed this life on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in Tyler, Texas. She graduated from Elysian Fields High School with the class of 1966. Mary loved to write in her journal, and she loved to sweep her porch. She was an avid LSU Tigers fan, loved to travel and go on vacation. She was the most kindhearted person you will ever meet. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Richard Sr, and Lorene Fonville and one brother, Robert Richard Jr Fonville. She is survived by her sister, Frances Kay Neal and her husband Robert of Panola County, Texas. Also surviving her are numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to her caretakers, Dorothy Vessey and Jessie Stephens for taking amazing care of Mary.
