Mrs. Mary Weems

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Weems, 86, of Clayton, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9-10:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. Mrs. Mary Ella Weems was born July 14, 1935, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She passed this life June 15, 2022, in Longview, Texas. Mary was the older of two children born to the marriage of Herman Clayton and Bevel Lee Knox Jones. She was raised in Nacogdoches graduating with the high school class of 1953. Mary attended Massey’s Business College. She married Fredie Joe Weems on May 7, 1954, and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2007. Mary and Fredie were members of the Bethel Baptist Church. Mary loved word find puzzles, reading, talking to friends over the phone and loved family gatherings. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Mrs. Weems is survived by her sons, Joe Weems of Longview, Cliff Weems, and wife Alecia of Mt. Enterprise; daughter, Christine Weems of Clayton; grandchildren, Cody Weems and wife Samantha and their daughter, Carlee, Lori Davis and husband Jeff and their children, Garrett and Riggin, and Clay Weems; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Cody Weems, Clay Weems, Jeff Davis, David Weems, Scott Weems, Michael John Clark, Garrett Davis, Riggin Davis, Justin Weems and Jacob Weems.
