    Mrs. Nina Lynn Miller

    October 17, 1929 - June 26, 2019

    Funeral services for Mrs. Nina Lynn Miller, 89, of Carthage, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. George Wilson and Dr. John Ray officiating. Burial will follow at the Walton Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home. Mrs. Nina Lynn Screws Hall Miller was born October 17, 1929 in Timpson, Rusk County, Texas and passed this life June 26, 2019 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was one of three children born to the marriage of Eddie and Liddie Bell McLeroy Screws. Nina was a graduate of Carthage High School with the class of 1947. She married B.T. Hall and together they had two sons and celebrated 30 years of marriage before his death. She spent another 30 years married to Willie “Bill” Miller who also preceded her in death. Nina spent 32 years working for Southwestern Bell as a service representative. She served as a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, and enjoyed membership in the Eastern Star. She loved her family and time with friends. She is also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bill and Arlin Screws and her two sons, Berry Taylor Hall and David Ray Hall. Mrs. Miller is survived by her beloved granddaughters, Angela Rene Wisdom and husband James of Carthage, Amy Hall and husband Jay Hosey of Shreveport, Kasey Colunga and husband John of Mabank, Chrystal Hall Doyle and husband Jim of Glen Allen, VA, Wendy Michelle Hall of Ft. Worth, Va’Lyhia Kindred of Killeen; twelve great grandchildren; step daughter, Patricia Ann Martin and husband Melvin of Shreveport; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Jay Hosey, James Wisdom, Jim Doyle, Brad Green, Randall White, and Nathan Strauss.
