Nina Marie Newman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Memorial services celebrating the life of Nina Marie Newman, 32, of Chicago, Illinois will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Tate officiating. Her ashes will be laid to rest in the Youngblood Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Nina Marie Searcy Newman was born June 26, 1990 in Henderson, Texas. She passed this life June 29, 2022 at her home in Chicago, Illinois. She was the only child born to the marriage of Charles Franklin and Alice Lenora Searcy Newman. Nina was raised and schooled in Beckville and graduated through the Panola Work Force. She attended Panola College and DePaul University of Chicago, Illinois. Nina painted and received a young artist’s award and her work hung in a restaurant in Chicago. Nina participated in the documentary “98 Seconds”. A documentary of Chicago women speaking out against violence. She loved the Lord and time with her children. She was appreciative of any little gesture, no matter how small, she made it seem so special to her. She had her own style and was her own person. Nina enjoyed listening to music and loved philosophy. She was an easy person to talk to and loved museums. She is preceded in death by her father and the father of her son Ethan Pierce, Austin Pierce. Mrs. Newman is survived by her devoted mother, Alice Searcy; and her two children, Ethan Austin Pierce, and Isaac Anthony Swindler; devoted partner, Jake Swindler; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
