Funeral services for Mr. Sidney Wiggins, 88, of Galloway Community will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee McClintock, II, and Rev. Bill Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home. Mr. Sidney Roger Wiggins was born January 25, 1931 in Panola County, Texas and passed this life April 27, 2019 in Carthage, Texas. He was one of three children born to the marriage of Claude Dugan and Dorothy Pinkston Wiggins. Sidney was raised and schooled in Midyett and Galloway schools. He married Billie Faye Sholar March 22, 1949 and they celebrated 61 years of marriage and raised three children in a loving Christian home. Mr. Wiggins worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a longtime member of the Galloway U.M.C. and later Maple Springs Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and spending time with grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Sidney Rickey Wiggins, sisters, Lila Grace Wiggins, Madeline Wiggins Walker, and grandson, Bradley Hall Wiggins. Mr. Wiggins is survived by his son, Randall Wiggins and wife Denise of Bellville; daughter, Teresa Stephens and husband Rodney of Logansport, LA; daughter-in-law, Sheila Wiggins of Joaquin; special brother-in-law, James E. “Top” Sholar and wife Wanda of Pedal, MS; grandchildren, Miranda Farmer and husband Jeremy of Logansport, LA, Phillip Wiggins of Gary, Ami Wiggins of Logansport, LA, Ali Fields and husband Paden of Logansport, LA, Cierra Stephens and fiancé Charlie McClintock of Logansport, LA, Katlyn Stephens of Logansport, LA; great grandchildren, Eli Fields, Abi Fields, Kevin McGuire, Mac Fields, Layne Farmer and Ian Farmer; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Phillip Wiggins, Rodney Stephens, Charlie McClintock, Paden Fields, Lloyd Stephens, and Jeremy Farmer; honorary pallbearers will be, Donnie Walker, Arnold Walker, Linnis Walker, and Charles Fowler. The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
