    Mrs. Sue Parker

    June 5, 1928 - January 16, 2019

    Jonisue “Sue” Robinson Parker, age 90, died peacefully at home January 16, 2019. She was born June 5, 1928 to Millard Ebron and Ruth Lee Middlebrooks Robinson in Clayton, TX and was the youngest of three daughters. She attended Clayton School through seventh grade and then Carthage High School until graduation in 1945. She married Tracy Parker on March 15, 1946 and they were married for 64 years until his death in 2010. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church from her marriage to her death. Mrs. Parker served as Panola County Treasurer for 16 years until she retired in 1993. Between 1945 and her retirement she also worked in offices of the County Clerk, County Tax Assessor, County Attorney, District Judge, County Superintendent, Panola County Water District, Probation Office, and Medical Records at Panola General Hospital. She was a great cook and best known by her family for her Chicken and Spaghetti, Macaroni and Cheese, and her Chocolate Pie. She and her husband were great supporters of the 4-H clubs, FFA and the Panola County Cattlemen’s Association. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her four children: Sandra Calver (Steve) of Savannah, GA; Nicky Parker of Carthage, TX; Johnny Parker (Monica Blanton) of Ardmore, OK; Melinda Gatewood (William) of Carthage. Eleven Grandchildren: Jeffrey Calver (Denise Litchfield), Patrick Calver (Michelle), Jennifer White , and Will Calver (Candice) of Savannah, GA; Page Schatz (Dustin) of Kilgore, TX, Mace Parker and Darcy Johnson (Bruce) of Carthage; Casey Barker (Tyler) of Ardmore, OK, Jamie Sanders (Joshua)of Rusk, TX, Matt Parker (Alyssa) of Carthage; Chris Graham of Carthage, TX. And 19 great grandchildren: Lane, Ethan, and Chloe Schatz of Kilgore; Genevieve, Sheldon, and Lela White of Savannah, GA; Sydney Calver and Madisson Blitch of Savannah, GA; Parker, Brody, and Creed Barker of Ardmore, OK; Hagen and Carter Sanders of Rusk; Cayson Graham of Carthage; Levi Johnson of Carthage; McKenzee Inman, Tracee, Harlee, and Joshua Stanlee Parker of Carthage. She is also survived by two sisters Mary Ann Holland and Janelle Reed, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Walter and Mary Parker, all of Carthage, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and also by her lifelong friend, Abby McJimpsey of Panola. The family gives enormous thanks and gratitude to her loving caregivers of many years, Doris Coleman, Tra’Neka Jimmerson, and Vanessa Williams and also to Tandra Coleman (Sunshine), Jocelyn Williams, Kimberly Hoffart-Owens, and Polly Coleman who helped with her care. Funeral services for Mrs. Parker will be Saturday, January 19 at 10 am at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage with Dr. George Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 pm to 7pm at the Hawthorn Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Jeffrey Calver, Patrick Calver, Mace Parker, Will Calver, Chris Graham, and Matt Parker and great granchildren.
