Funeral services for Mrs. Tammy Newman Jones, 59, of Gary, Texas will be 3:00 Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Buddy Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Tammy Karlene Newman Jones was born March 15, 1963, in Houston, Texas. She passed this life peacefully June 2, 2022, at her Gary home. Tammy was born to the marriage of Bob and Bethana Hood Newman. She was raised and schooled in Gary graduating with the Bobcat class of 1982. Tammy attended Panola College. Tammy married her love Jeffery Jones on August 31, 1989, and they spent 33 years together. Mrs. Jones worked in the care of elderly both through the Panola Nursing and Rehabilitation for over 20 years and time as a personal sitter for many in need. Tammy was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved to cook and spend time with her grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Robert, Phillip, and Bob Newman Jr., and her dogs Oreo and Sassy. Mrs. Jones is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey Jones of Gary; daughters, Stacy Hillin and husband Justin of Gary, Ashley Jones of Gary, and Shauna Hughes and husband Jeremy of Gladewater; son, Chad Jones of Gary; sister-in-law, Sue Newman; grandchildren, Shawn Brown, Wesley Jones, Cameron Hillin, Madison Jones, Justin Jones and Destiny Hughes; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Chad Jones, Shawn Brown, Justin Hillin, Shannon Jordan, Shane Jordan, and Rusty Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be, Wesley Jones, Justin Jones, and Cameron Hillin.
