    Mr. Travis Campbell

    November 6, 1943 - March 30, 2020

    Graveside funeral services for Mr. Travis Campbell, 76, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2020 at the Old Center Cemetery with Rev. James Edge officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Travis Benjamin Campbell was born November 6, 1943 in Noble, Louisiana. He passed this life March 30, 2020 peacefully at his Carthage home. Travis was born to the marriage of Riley and Gladys Horton Campbell. He was raised in Zwolle, Louisiana graduating high school there. He received both his Mechanic and Drafting certifications. Mr. Campbell served his country through the U.S. Army during the vietman war serving in Thailand. Travis married Joann Boyd September 18, 1981 and celebrated 38 years of marriage. They were members of Old Center Baptist Church. Travis loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and was an avid golfer. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bernard Campbell. Mr. Campbell is survived by his loving wife, Joann Boyd of Carthage; son Travis Wayne Campbell of Old Center; brothers, Rush Fine of Shreveport, LA, and George Fine of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Stephanie Nichoal Campbell and Matthew Wayne Campbell; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Brenten Carroll, McKenny Evans, Val Evans, Stephen Pinkston, Thomas Gibbs, and Jimmy Gibbs.
