Mrs. Beverly Waldrop Crawford

Funeral services for Mrs. Beverly Waldrop Crawford, 92, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024. at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buddy Briggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Waldrop Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Beverly Jack was born July 2, 1931 in Crane, Texas to Lucy Ellen Thornbrugh and Tommy Earl Dodd. Beverly lost her mother very young and was adopted into the large loving family of Freddy Clay and Bettie B. Waits Waldrop. Beverly passed this life May 16, 2024 in Henderson, Texas. She was raised and schooled in Beckville, graduating Beckville High School with the Bearcat class of 1948. She was a graduate of Panola Junior College and spent her career as a nurse in the medical field. Beverly married her love Billy Jack Crawford June 9, 1950 and they celebrated over 50 years of marriage and three children before he preceded her in death in 2001. Beverly was a longtime member of the Carthage Missionary Baptist Church. She was owner of Beverly’s Greenhouse and Nursery. She served in the Carthage Service League since 1979. Beverly cherished her family of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her parents and an infant sibling, C. B. Waldrop. Mrs. Crawford is survived by her loving children, son, Melvin Crawford and wife Julie of Beckville, daughter, Edna Coleman and husband Bubba of Beckville, and daughter Diane Davidson of Crystal Beach; son-in-law, Danny Buck Davidson of Carthage; grandchildren, Denise Whisenhunt and husband Eric, Rusty Lynn Coleman and wife Nicole, Melissa Fleet and husband Steven, Jennifer Davidson Hattaway and husband Trey, Bradley Dan Davidson and wife Stephanie, Brent Coleman and wife Misty, Rebecca Davidson Courtney and husband Chad, Cody Crawford and wife Kacie; great grandchildren, Ryan, Amber, Jaycee, Jason, Matt, Abby, Thomas, Colby, Maggie, Kyle, Karsyn, Kamryn, Braden, Emery, Hadley, Jared, Kimber, and Brady; half-sisters, Dee Breedlove and Donna Chickelero both of CA; numerous other family and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Kyle Coleman, Thomas Hattaway, Colby Davidson, Matt Brown, Jason Brown, Braden Courtney, Jared Davidson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Rusty Coleman, Brent Coleman, Bradley Davidson, and Cody Crawford.
