Mr. Billy Anders

Graveside services for Mr. Billy Anders, 76, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Friday May 13, 2016 at the Clayton Cemetery with Rev. James Littleton officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8:00 p.m. at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Anders died May 10, 2016 in Carthage, Texas. Mr. Billy Ross Anders was born June 9, 1939 in Carthage, Texas. He was one of two children born to the marriage of Oswald D. “O.D.” and Hazel Ross Anders. He was raised and schooled in Panola County and graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1957. Billy married Vicky Mullanix Anders May 16, 1996, and they celebrated almost 20 years of marriage. After 21 years at Southwestern Bell, Mr. Anders retired as construction supervisor. He was a member of the Carthage Missionary Baptist Church and a member of The Sons of the American Legion. He loved hunting and fishing and other outdoor sports. He enjoyed gardening and sharing with his many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Anders is survived by his loving wife, Vicky Anders of Carthage; children, Tim Anders, Terri Hudson and husband Jerry “Bubba”, all of Carthage, and Tina Anders Campbell of Lake Cherokee; step children, Cherie and husband Keith Lovelady, Keith and wife Dana Clark; second son, Mike Bagley and wife Karen, all of Carthage; sister, Peggy Lynn Lewis of Carthage; grandchildren, Bliss Lindsey and husband Michael, Joe Anders and wife Krystin, Shelby Anders, Staci Hudson Burleson and husband Dusty, Brian Hudson, Dirk Wall, Brice Campbell, and Alyssa Campbell; step grandchildren, Clayton and Abra Bell, Amy and Josh Knight, Justin Bell, Kaleb Lovelady, Kacie and Jeff White, Lacie and Brack LaGrone; nephew, Deron and wife Julie Lewis and child, Blake; and 12 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be his eight grandsons, honorary Pallbearers will be Phillip Waldrop, Walter Parker, Mike Bagley, David Munday, Jerry “Bubba” Hudson and Stan Farr.
