Mr. James Bryan Peloquin

A funeral service for Mr. James Peloquin, 44 of DeBerry will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the Bethany Baptist Church in Bethany, Louisiana. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. James Bryan Peloquin was born on August 12, 1978, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Michael Keith Peloquin and Helen Maurine Gibbs. He went to meet his maker suddenly on October 13, 2022. He grew up in the cities of Elysian Fields, DeBerry, Waskom, Longview, Shreveport, and Bossier City, so he blessed many people with his presence. He graduated from Elysian Fields High School in 1996. He attended Panola College and graduated from Louisiana Technical Trade School in mechanics. He was employed at Anderson Tractor Sales, where he considered everyone family. James was a very giving person who tried to take care of everyone and everything. He was a true friend, brother, son, father, husband who always had a shoulder available for support or to cry on. He could never say no and always tried to figure out how to make everything work out. James was also very involved in the community. He served numerous years as Captain of Community 4 Volunteer Fire Department. James also served on Area Go Texan raising money for scholarships. James was very proud of the businesses he had—Boss Hog BarBQue and Boss Weed Control. He gladly employed numerous friends and taught his boys priceless skills. He was a very involved Dad and husband, who never missed a game, practice, school event, graduation, or doctor’s appointment. His sons were his pride and joy. His wife was his china doll princess. James was preceded in death by grandparents Arthur and Margie Gibbs, Dorothy Peloquin and J.C. Purvis. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 18 years, Cherie Becker Peloquin, sons, Dillan Peloquin, Drake Marceaux, Hunter Marceaux, and Colton Marceaux; father, Michael Peloquin and stepmother, Cindy; mother, Helen Gibbs and step dad Wayne Campbell; brother, Dereck Peloquin and wife Rachel; sister, Dawn Stover and husband John; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and co-workers. He has left a huge hole in their lives. They say God takes you when your work on earth is done and you are perfect.
