Mrs. Janie S. McFadden

Funeral services for Mrs. Janie McFadden, 91, of Shiloh will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean Register and Rev. Charles Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Janie Swanzy McFadden was born September 10, 1934, in Deadwood, Texas. She passed this life April 21, 2026, ,in Shreveport, Louisiana. Janie was the second child born to the marriage of Mary Lucille Alexander and James Thomas Swanzy. She was raised and schooled in Deadwood and graduated from Carthage High School with the Bulldog Class of 1952. Janie married her love Billy Joe McFadden February 17, 1953, and they celebrated 73 years of marriage. Mrs. McFadden was a longtime member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. She was an avid reader, loved cooking, gardening and all things involving kids and grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Annette Lofton, brother, Aubrey Fargarson, nephew, Jeff Fargarson and a son-in-law, Tommy McKnight. Mrs. McFadden is survived by her devoted husband Billy McFadden of Shiloh; children, Kaylan McKnight of Shiloh, Joey McFadden and wife Becky of Shiloh, Rena Weatherford and husband Kyle of Laneville; brother, Gus Fargarson and wife Barbara of Roanoke, Virginia; grandchildren of “Mama Mac”, Justin Jones and wife Natalie, Graham Jones, Tammy McFarland and husband Michael, Timothy McKnight and wife Kris, Tyler McFadden, Alyssa Birmingham and husband Boone, Whitney Weatherford; special niece, Pattie Landreneau and husband Larry; great grandchildren of “Mackie” are, Kallan Bo Jones, Lailey Beth Birmingham, Cason, Korigan, Taryn, Jaden, Karli, Isabella, Kolton; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Rusty Ivy, Jeff Ivy, Paul McFadden, Richard Bagley, Kim Timmons, Jerry Wayne McFadden. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Ivy, Mike Lofton, L.W. Bardwell. The family wishes to thank caregivers, Adrianne Cameron, Jessica James, Rebecca Bates, Tina Office, Dearse Murray for the excellent care and love shown.
