Mrs. Lillie Ann Hudman

Lillie Ann (Campbell) Hudman, born March 29, 1941, in Marlin, TX to Minnie Lee (Cureton) and Walter Marion Campbell, went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. At the age of 15, Lillie met the love of her life, James Fredrick (PeeWee) Hudman in Baytown. They married August 23, 1957, raised four boys, and enjoyed almost 67 years of marriage. Lillie's love for her family was surpassed only by her love for the Lord. Although she held positions of employment over the years as secretary for PeeWee's numerous ventures, checker at Grindle's Grocery, and cafeteria worker for Tatum ISD, her volunteer service to her community through her church and the Samaritan House is what she will be most remembered for. Lillie gracefully juggled her life; raising her boys, attending school programs and sporting events, then later doing the same for her grandchildren, all while welcoming any opportunity to help her neighbors and friends by preparing a meal, providing transportation, or anything else required. She loved hosting family gatherings, especially Christmas. And although she never quite mastered chicken-n-dumplings, her cornmeal battered pork chops and Kenneth's favorite Hello Dolly's, more than made up for it. She had the ability to turn out a full meal with just a few ingredients, and if she knew your favorite dish, you could be sure it would be included in the menu. Lillie was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Patty Bennett, Velma Jackson, Margaret Visage, and grandson Randy Joe Hudman. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, her sons, Ricky (Becky) Hudman, Jerry (Isabelle) Hudman, Phillip (Laura) Hudman, and Kenneth (Diana) Hudman; grandchildren James Hudman, Westley Hudman, Jeremy Hudman, Travis (Victoria) Hudman, Morgan (Joe) Beason, Zach (Jennie) Mays, Jered (Kateland) Hudman, Mary (Charlie) Holland, Mason Hudman and Kendi Hudman; 14 great-grand children, her sisters, Yvonne Drummond and Jean Kitchens, as well as a host of other family and friends. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to PrimeCare Hospice for their service over the past 7 months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Samaritan House in Tatum.
