Lula Nell Ivey

Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Nell Ivey, 86 of Carthage, Texas will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barney Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be Monday evening from 6–8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Lula Nell went home to be with the Lord Saturday January 5, 2013 in Carthage. Lula Nell was born February 10, 1926 in Panola County, Texas to Lynn and Genie Lawhorn. She was married to the late Mindon “Jack” Ivey for 49 years. After they married, they moved to Washington State for two years before returning home to Panola County. Lula Nell was a devoted wife, mother and member of the Parkway Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Lynn and Genie Lawhorn; husband Mindon “Jack” Ivey; brother Edward Lawhorn and sister-in-law Judy Lawhorn; son Richard Tondreau. Lula Nell is survived by her son Mike Ivey and wife Donna of Jasper; daughters, Charlotte Ivey Abernathy of DeBerry, and Debra Ivey Halcumb and husband Richard of Carthage; daughter-in-law Cinamon Toon Tondreau of Orlando, Florida; sister Jeraldine Lawhorn Dyson of Carthage; sister-in-law Linda Ivey Elliott; 22 grandchildren, Rachel Stone, Rebekah Westbrook, Ruth Ivey, Dawn Abernathy, Dustin Abernathy and wife Brandy, Debra Boykin, Shannon Bush and husband Eric, David Tondreau, Brandon Tondreau and wife Lisa, Amanda Williams and husband Ricky, Leyden Tondreau, Skye Tondreau, Kiley Tondreau, Mia Tondreau; step-grandchildren, Bryce Halcumb and wife Mindy and Britt Bragg and husband Roger; 28 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be David Tondreau, Brandon Tondreau, Ricky Williams, Jake Tondreau, Bryce Halcumb, Steve Lawhorn, Randy Wilkerson and Albert Ray. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Abernathy, Herman Beeler, Jesse Gomee, Tyler Abernathy, Hayden Bryant, Andrew Williams, Stone Tondreau, Judah Stone, Jedidiah Stone, Slater Westbrook, Slyder Westbrook, Catch Bragg and Branton Halcumb.
