Vesta Mae Bozeman

Funeral services for Mrs. Vesta Mae Bozeman, 76 of Center, formerly of DeBerry, Texas will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne T. Fontenot and Rev. Kirby Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Methodist Cemetery in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be Friday evening from 6–8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Bozeman passed away April 6, 2011 in Center. Mrs. Vesta Mae Hooper Bozeman was born May 6, 1934 in the Logan Community of Panola County, Texas. She was one of four children born to the marriage of Alzie Burton and Pearle Louise Smart Hooper. Vesta was raised and attended rural schools in the Logan Community of Panola County, Texas. She later met and married George LaVone Bozeman in 1952 and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2005. Mrs. Bozeman was a longtime devoted member of the Midyett Baptist Church. Mrs. Bozeman is also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Carrie Cameron and Ruby Johnston, brother, Bennie Hooper; infant daughters Georgia and Debra; and granddaughter, Dena Bozeman. Mrs. Bozeman is survived by her sons, Ricky Bozeman and wife Sheila of Carthage, Barry Bozeman and wife Shirley of Carthage; daughters, Vickie Johnson and husband Mike of Corpus Christi and Kathy Brown and husband Marlin of California; sister-in-law, Billie Hooper of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Jeri Bozeman Burgess and husband Brandon of Carthage, Jeremy Bozeman and fiancé Bonnie Collins of Marshall, Matthew Bozeman of Nacogdoches, Angela McLees of Madill, OK, Jamie Bozeman, Nathan Bozeman and Ethan Bozeman of Ada, OK, Shelly Simms of South Carolina, Tony Johnson of Corpus Christi, Todd Johnson of Corpus Christi, Alex, Zachary and Ross Brown all of California; step grandchildren, Thomas Singletary of Carthage, Casey Fannin and husband Earl of Tatum; eleven great grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces , nephews and a host of friends; and special thanks to her caregivers at Green Acres Nursing Home in Center. Serving as pallbearers will be, Gene Cameron, Barry Bozeman, J.R. Stewart, Matthew Bozeman, Bobby Bozeman and Ricky Bozeman.
