Mrs. Adele McGraw Hartless

Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Adele McGraw Hartless, 92 years and 10 months of the Dotson Community of Panola County, Texas will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Buddy Briggs officiating. Burial will follow in the County Line Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday night at hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Adele passed away Friday morning May 29th at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Henderson, Texas. Her home until she was called home to her heavenly home to be with her husband, son and little granddaughter and other family and friends. Mrs. Cornelia Adele McGraw Hartless was born July 18, 1923 in Pine Hill, Texas. She was the seventh of eleven children born to the marriage of Homer and Ida York McGraw. She was schooled in Longbranch and Jumbo and graduated from Minden, Texas High School with the class of 1941. Adele married Clyde Hartless January 31, 1942 and to this marriage was born one son Mike Hartless on September 3, 1946. Clyde and Adele were farmers for several years before Clyde began pipelining and she became a beautician in 1959. In 1966 she joined her husband in the pipeline industry as office manager and payroll clerk. After retiring she and Clyde re-opened the Dotson Grocery until failing health forced them to retire once again in 1991. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in January of 1992 before he passed away April 20th of that year. Adele became a Christian in her early years and was an active member of Enterprise Missionary Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She loved fishing, crossword puzzles and dominoes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Mike and siblings, Annie, Preston, Earnest, Grover, Hazel, L.A., Syd and Irene. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Arleen and two granddaughters, Renea Elliott and husband Dayton, Jr., and Tana Hartless, four great grandchildren, Chelsea Elliott, Caitlin Elliott, Caid Hartless and Callie Essery all of Dotson and one great great granddaughter, due soon. She is also survived by two sisters, Ida Belle Keeling and Frances Floyd and a sister-in-law, Billie Jean McGraw of Carthage, caregiver, Ella Fletcher, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be, Morgan Rabon, Jr., Tony Rabon, Matt Rabon, Tim Atkerson, Mark Atkerson, Johnny Floyd, Jr., Billy Keeling, Caid Hartless, Troy Davis, honorary pallbearers are, Robbie Smith, Michael Sparks, Morgan Rabon, Sr., RogerAtkerson, Jake Keeling, Steve Mathis, Jerry Davis and Brad Davis.
